The client already had the WordPress blog with the Thesis theme set up, but wanted a new design created and applied to it. He had a few ideas about the colour scheme and other requirements for the site, and what the purpose of the site was.

Design

For the bulk of the design, I turned to one of my Associates, Hannah from clear breeze design. She took the notes and requirements from the client, and in just a few hours came up with the base design. I then took the mockup, and after seeking feedback from the client, applied further design tweaks until he was happy.

Development

There were two key bits of development that were required. First was that the client had a requirement that the top banner image was random on each page, and secondly that 3 new sidebar areas in which widgets could be dropped, were added to the footer area. Both were achieved fairly easily with PHP via the customisation of Thesis.

The client also wanted his existing newsletter subscription form styled and added, and also a way to show testimonials that he had collected, so after-sales support was also given until the client was happy with the final result.
