Over the next few days the content and look of the site will be changing, as I add some new copy, and a fresh new design. A lot of the technical behind-the-scenes tweaks have been done, so it leave the two final areas that everyone sees the most – the content, and how it is presented.
It’s taken a while to get there, but I’m really pleased with how the copy has come along, and it shows the value of getting a professional in to get a better result than one might otherwise have ended up with. Selling myself is something that doesn’t come easily to me, but, that’s one of the objectives of this site for me, so bold forward copy is what’s needed in this case. Thinking carefully about how it’s worded should lead to some nice SEO benefits too.
I’ve also got a designer in to do the creative thinking on my behalf – a fresh pair of eyes, and someone who isn’t trying to be the customer and designer at the same time is always worthwhile. The markup will all still be valid of course – that’s something that I never compromise on.
Ideally, it will all be live by Thursday 1st October, just in time to give out some business cards at the Be Inspired 09 event happening in Basingstoke. With at least three millionaires giving keynote speeches, and loads of seminars and networking events for small businesses it should be an interesting day out of the office.
If in a few days, you like the end result of the revamp, and want to make use of these talented people for your own site, then get in contact and we’ll hook you up!
